Common Questions About Kickboxing

Do I need to be in shape to start?

Not at all! Kickboxing will GET you in shape. We have members who started unable to do a push-up and now they're in the best shape of their lives. Start where you are.

What should I bring to class?

Just water and a towel. Wear comfortable workout clothes and running shoes. We have gloves you can borrow for your first few classes. Hand wraps are recommended but not required initially.

I've never hit anything before. Will I look silly?

Everyone starts somewhere! Our instructors are patient and will teach you proper form from day one. The environment is supportive - members help each other improve.

Is kickboxing good for self-defense?

Absolutely. You'll learn real striking techniques that work. While we focus on fitness and fun, the skills you develop are practical for self-defense situations.

How is this different from a cardio kickboxing class at a regular gym?

You're learning from actual martial artists, not fitness instructors reading from a script. We teach proper technique that protects your joints and maximizes effectiveness. Plus, you have the option to do partner work and light sparring when you're ready.
